The creation of the family group in Dijon
The story begins when our current President Alain Jacquier, then 18 years old, took over the management of the current Ibis Styles Le Central hotel, founded by his grandmother in 1928. Then he passed on his passion in business to his son Patrick Jacquier and grandchildren Caroline and Anthony Jacquier.
Since this first hotel, the group has continued to grow. In 1977, the Ibis Arquebuse hotel was added to the family's range of services, which has now become Ibis Dijon Gare. Then, the Mercure Dijon Centre Clemenceau hotel opened in 1980 and was awarded its fourth star in 1997, a guarantee of the quality of service offered by the teams! In 1984, the Grand Hôtel La Cloche was integrated into the family fold. It is one of the oldest hotels in Europe since its history began in 1424! Nowadays it is classified 5-stars and bears the colours of the MGallery Collection.
The diversification of the Group's offer
Building on these successes, the group expanded and opened up to other towns in Burgundy. First with the Ibis Beaune Sud La Ferme aux Vins hotel in 1988, then with the Ibis Chalon-Sur-Saône Europe hotel in 1992.
In 2005, still under the watchful eyes of Alain and Patrick Jacquier, the family decided to invest in the field of budget hotels, to adapt to all customer demands, and opened an Ibis Budget hotel and a B&B in Dijon. Two years later, a fourth hotel under the Ibis banner saw the light of day with Ibis Dijon Centre Clemenceau.
The development of the group
More recent news is marked by the opening of Holiday Inn Express Dijon-St Apollinaire in 2014, and a return to Chalon-Sur-Saône in June 2015, with the opening of a new Ibis Budget. Then in February 2017, Caroline Jacquier made the winning bet to create two establishments in one, with the opening of Ibis Budget Dijon Centre Clemenceau within the Ibis Dijon Centre Clemenceau hotel itself! Finally, for the news arrivals, the family has chosen to pursue its development in the French capital city with the Mercure Paris 17 Batignolles hotel in 2018 and the Novotel Suites Paris CDG Airport Villepinte in 2020.
